The Ultimate Kentucky Legend BLT
Thick-cut double-smoked bacon makes all the difference in this classic sandwich.
Ingredients
- 6 slices Kentucky Legend Bacon
- 4 slices thick-cut white or sourdough bread, toasted
- 2 ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 4 leaves romaine or iceberg lettuce
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
- 1 Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- 2 Toast bread slices until golden.
- 3 Spread mayonnaise generously on one side of each toast slice.
- 4 Layer lettuce leaves on two slices of toast. Top with tomato slices and season with salt and pepper.
- 5 Add three strips of bacon to each sandwich.
- 6 Close sandwiches, cut diagonally, and serve immediately.
